Instructions
1. Make the Steaks
In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix gently until just combined. Form into 4–5 oval-shaped patties.
2. Brown the Patties
Heat a large skillet over medium heat with a small amount of oil. Add the patties and cook for 3–4 minutes per side until browned. Remove from the skillet and set aside. (They will finish cooking in the gravy.)Gravy
3. Cook the Onions
In the same skillet, add butter or oil. Add sliced onions and cook over medium heat for 8–10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until soft and lightly caramelized.
4. Make the Gravy
Sprinkle flour over the onions and stir well. Cook for 1 minute to remove the raw flour taste. Slowly pour in beef broth while stirring constantly. Add Worcestershire sauce and bring to a gentle simmer.
