I occasionally thought about Daniel.
Without anger.
Without regret.
Without longing.
He had made his choices.
I had made mine.
And that was enough.
At JFK Airport, I thought I was watching my future disappear through a security checkpoint.
I was wrong.
The future wasn’t walking away from me.
